Project monitoring and evaluation
Context and rationale
Project evaluation is a targeted, time-limited review that assesses an ongoing or completed project, including its design, implementation and results. It assesses using systematic methods and objective criteria and looks for explanations if a process did not go as planned.
Monitoring and evaluation is one of the essential components of results-based management because it measures the progress made towards the set objectives and expected results. It is not just a matter of collecting information about the project, but of analysing and using it to improve project management and make timely decisions.
This course will enable you to acquire the technical knowledge and methodological know-how needed to implement a monitoring and evaluation system within a project.
